Replacing Formatting
1. On
the Edit menu, click Replace. You will get a Window as shown in
Figure 4.8.3

2. Do
one of the following:

To search for text with specific formatting,
enter the text in the Find what box.
·
To search for specific formatting only, delete
any text in the Find what box.
3. If
you don't see the Format button, click More.
4. If
you want to clear the specified formatting, click No Formatting.
6. Click
Format, and then select the formats you want.
7. In
the Replace with box, repeat steps 2 through 5.
8. Click
Find Next, Replace, or Replace All.
9. To
cancel a search in progress, press ESC.
4.9 Proofing
Document With Spell Check And Grammar Check
4.9.1 Checking the
spelling of the entire document
To fix spelling and grammatical errors without
confirming each correction. For example, if you type definitely and then type a
space or other punctuation, AutoCorrect replaces it with
"definitely." AutoCorrect can make corrections that are generated by
the spelling checker's main dictionary, and by a list of built-in AutoCorrect
entries. You can easily add your own AutoCorrect entries or remove unwanted ones.
Use AutoCorrect to correct errors as you type
1. On the
Tools menu, click Auto Correct.
2. Do one or
more of the following:

To set the
capitalization options, select or clear the first four check boxes in the
dialog box.

To turn on or off the
AutoCorrect entries, select or clear the Replace text as you type check
box.

To turn on the
spelling checker corrections, select the Replace text as you type check
box, and then select the Automatically use suggestions from the spelling
checker check box. To turn off the spelling checker corrections, clear
the Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker check box.
Check spelling and grammar all at once
1. By
default, Microsoft Word checks both spelling and grammar. I If you want to
check spelling only, click Options on the Tools menu, click the Spelling &
Grammar tab, clear the Check grammar with spelling check box, and then click
OK.
2. Click
Spelling and Grammar on the Standard toolbar.
3. When Word
finds a possible spelling or grammatical error, make your changes in the
Spelling and Grammar dialog box.
4. For Help
on an option, click the question mark
and then
click the option.

4.9.2 Spell Checking

1. Select
the text you want to check for spelling.
2. Click
on Spelling and Grammar
button on Standard Toolbar.
3. Alternatively
you can use F7 function key to invoke the function.
4.9.3 Using
Thesaurus
Select or type a word for which you want to find a
synonym, an antonym, or related words.
On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click
Thesaurus.
If the Thesaurus command does not appear on the
Language submenu, you may need to install the thesaurus.
Select the
options you want.
For Help on an option, click the question mark
and then click the option.
Note You can also find a common synonym for a word by right-clicking
the word, pointing to Synonyms on the shortcut menu, and then clicking the
synonym you want.
Set rules for grammar and writing styles
To customize the grammar checker, you can specify
the set of grammar and writing style rules it uses. For example, select a
built-in style, such as Casual or Technical. Or you can create a new style or
customize an existing style.
Select a grammar and writing style
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the
Spelling & Grammar tab. In the Writing style box, click on the style you
want.
